Working with a consultant

Why hire a consultant instead of more staff?

A consultant brings experience from many institutions, an outside view and specialist skills, without the time and cost of a senior hire. Many institutions use a consultant to set direction and build capability, then hire permanent staff once the plan is working.

How do I choose the right higher education marketing consultant?

Look for evidence of results in enrollments, not just leads; experience with institutions like yours; a clear method; honest reporting; and references you can speak to. Ask how they will measure success and what they will need from your team. My approach is explained on the higher education marketing consultant page.

What size of institution do you work with?

From single colleges to multi-campus universities and national education brands. The approach is scaled to your size and budget.

Where do you work?

I work with institutions across India and internationally, mostly remotely, with on-site workshops and visits when they add value.

Services and approach

What is the difference between student recruitment and student enrollment?

Recruitment is about attracting the right students and generating enquiries and applications. Enrollment is about converting those applicants into students who confirm, pay and start classes. Most institutions need both; see student recruitment and student enrollment.

Do you help with international students?

Yes, including market selection, agent networks, campaigns and conversion from offer to arrival. I do not give immigration or visa advice.

Do you work with schools, edtech and training providers?

Yes. My work for the wider education sector is described on the education digital marketing consultant page.

Can you run our campaigns, or only advise?

Both. I can set strategy and guide your team or agency, or manage campaigns and channels hands-on as a fractional digital marketer.

Do you offer SEO?

Yes. Programme page SEO, technical SEO, international SEO and visibility in AI search. See higher education SEO.

Results and measurement

How do you measure success?

By the measures leadership cares about: qualified enquiries, applications, enrollments, conversion rates at each stage, and cost per enrolled student. We agree targets before work starts.

How long before we see results?

Quick wins, such as faster follow-up or removing wasted ad spend, often show within weeks. Campaign and funnel improvements build over the first admission cycle. SEO, branding and partner networks deliver growing returns over one to two intakes.

Do you guarantee results?

No honest consultant can guarantee enrollments, because they depend on many factors, including your programmes, fees and admissions team. I commit to a clear plan, quality work and transparent reporting.

Fees and engagement

How much do your services cost?

Fees depend on scope and duration. Projects such as audits have a fixed fee; ongoing consulting, campaign management and fractional roles are monthly. After a strategy call, you receive a written proposal.

Is the first call free?

Yes. The 30-minute strategy call is free and comes with no obligation. You will leave with three clear actions, whether or not we work together.

Who owns the ad accounts, data and content?

You do. All accounts, data, pages and materials are in your institution’s name.

How do you handle our data?

Your data is used only for your project, stored securely and handled in line with applicable data protection law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. See the privacy policy.

Speaking and training

Do you speak at conferences and run workshops?

Yes. See Speaking for topics, and education marketing expert for team training and advisory.
